Year 3 - Dolphins

Home Learning Challenges Week 2

Spring term 2

I hope you had a good break.

This term our topic is based around our residential to Sherwood Forest. We are going to look at a range of myths and legends. Our residential is in the middle of the term and will be a great opportunity for children to have a range of new experiences.

In maths we will be looking at place value, the four operations, fractions and re-visiting money. We will be utilising our outdoor spaces a lot throughout the year so please ensure your child has suitable footwear and coats in school throughout the year.

Our literacy topic will be based on Robin Hood and his many adventures and we will be producing a range of texts to help us. We will be using our reading lessons to help us with our literacy too and this will lead nicely into our SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar).

In R.E we will be focusing on Hinduism and Christianity and studying the similarities and differences between the two.

Our P.E lessons this term are on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon this term. Please ensure your child has their P.E kit in school with them on both of these days. If you need more P.E kit please go to the office to purchase new kit.

We are lucky enough to have a professional violin teacher who will teach us every Wednesday afternoon.

If you have any problems or question at all throughout the year then please don't hesitate to come and find myself, Mrs Steers or Mrs Palmer.

Thanks, Mr Naughton
