Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely break. This term we continue our topic ‘Muddy Puddles’ where we are concentrating on farms and farming.
This term we are reading a variety of traditional stories with links to farms and then using our grammar and spelling knowledge to write our own stories with a traditional feel. As always our handwriting lead ins and joins will be a focus alongside spelling our common exception words correctly. Spellings will be given out each Friday in homework books.
The children will continue to change their reading books on a Monday or Tuesday so please remember to sign or comment in their reading diaries if they have read at home.
Please remember that book bags need to come in every day.
In Maths we are working on shape, fractions and the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
We are still practising our 2,5,10 and 3 times tables through fun games and using Times Table Rockstars. Maths homework is given out each Tuesday.
In science we are finding out about changes and which are reversible or irreversible, continuing to track the weather within the seasons and finding out about living things and their habitats. Our scientific skills will be developed through some interesting investigations in school.
We are having our first FaceTime session with our farmers and discovering where the farm is, what they grow and all about the two farmers who run it.
PE is now on Wednesday and Thursday so please don’t forget your PE kits!
If you have any questions, please ask myself or Mrs Barlow.
