We have had a bit of a tricky year with the Spring Term being so full of changes. Some of you learned at home and some at school. In this Summer Term we are looking forward to us all being together again and getting lots of learning done and memories made!
We have worked hard looking at what we need to learn this term and we will be doing lots of things to develop your skills in Reading, Writing, Maths and Phonics to help you get the most out of this term. We will continue to use the White Rose Maths to learn about number, calculation and shape, space and measure. Our key texts will change through the term but we are starting with Farmer Duck and The Little Red Hen.
Reading is always important to us but we are going to be looking at it even more this term. Please read you reading book at home everyday - this can be the book we send or the books we set on the Rising Stars website (ask us for help with this is you need it). It will really help you with lots of other skills - understanding, writing, spelling and thinking to name a few! We might even have a little class prize for reading now and then!
Our topic this term is 'Grab Your Passports!' and we have lots of exciting learning planned for this. We will learn about our local area and how important local farming is and how it has changed over time. We will find out more about animals and develop printing skills in Art, using fruits and vegetables to make printing stamps with! We will later learn about Australia as our cultural day focus and to help us compare it to where we live.
As always (and as the weather improves) we will do lots of outdoor learning. It will really help if you bring your own pair of wellies to keep in your locker and remember a spare pair of socks!
If parents/carers need to speak to either of us they can do so at the end of the school day (don't forget your face covering please) or by telephoning the school office to arrange a call back.
We are always here to help and look forward to welcoming you back for the Summer Term. We can't wait to get started!
