Learning Coach

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about my role as Learning Coach within the school. Currently, I am working with children in Years 2,4,5 and 6 with a particular focus on helping them to become 'better' writers. Each week, I work with the specific children during a Literacy lesson, following this up with individual one to one sessions (and drop-ins) where together we identify their strengths and areas where they can make improvement. From this, we  agree small, achievable targets to work on during subsequent lessons. I am hoping that the children will look forward to these sessions, and will feel more involved in their learning, allowing them to evaluate what they are doing well and what they need to work on to become even better.

In order to make this successful, teamwork and cooperation is essential. If I am fortunate enough to be working with your child, I hope they they will discuss these targets with you and I will liaise with the class teachers to keep them informed of our discussions. If at any time you wish to discuss these targets, or need any help on how to give them a hand at home, please feel free to make an appointment to come and see me.

I look forward to working in partnership with your child throughout the coming year and I am confident that together we can provide the support and encouragement needed to help your child excel. If you have any questions now or at anytime in the future, don’t hesitate to contact me.
