Year 1 - Koalas

Happy New Year!

Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.

Our topic this term is 'adventures'. We have lots of exciting writing planned based around a range of books. Koala class will be doing lots of different types of writing and building on the amazing skills they learnt from last term. We are going to be doing lots of investigating some mysteries around school

We have an incredible trip planned but more will be revealed about this closer to the time and it is going to be a great opportunity for the children to take their learning out of the classroom.

In numeracy, we will be looking at place value, number bonds to 20 addition and subtraction of numbers using different techniques and prompts to help us and even touching on multiplication and division. We will be taking lots of our learning outside in our outdoor forest areas.

Please make sure your child's P.E kit is in school on a Friday ready for P.E.

Phonics homework will be given each Friday, the children will have a few spellings to learn and there will be a short test on a Friday.

If there are any questions or worries that you have please don't hesitate to come and see us at the end of the day.

Thanks, Mr Naughton and Mrs McBroom
